Generally speaking, things that are good for you aren’t always the most enjoyable. But there are certain cases when being “bad” can actually help improve your health.
With that in mind, most of us assume that clubbing is bad for you, but let me prove you wrong with these seven reasons for why it’s actually good for your health.
1. DANCING
Dancing = cardio = burnin’ those calories right up.
Dancing enhances your life in so many ways: health, confidence, self-expression, social, relaxation, and fun. When you dance, your cardiovascular system improves, your muscle tone increases and you burn calories. This low-impact aerobic activity also increases flexibility, strength, and balance.
2. ALCOHOL
Drinking occasionally could add a few years to your life. A study by the Catholic University of Campobasso showed that drinking less than four or two drinks per day for men and women respectively could reduce the risk of death by 18 percent, as reported by Reuters.
3. MIND STIMULATING
Clubbing introduces you to an interesting, stimulating environment, i.e. the music, lights, decoration, etc.
Getting you out of your natural routine helps you become more stable and creative in a world filled with mundane activities.
4. KISSING
Kissing helps reduce blood pressure. It’s true!
Making out isn’t just good for your emotional heart, it gives your anatomical one a workout, too. “Kissing passionately gets your heartbeat revved in a healthy way that helps lower your blood pressure,” says Andréa Demirjian, author of Kissing: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about One of Life’s Sweetest Pleasures. “It dilates your blood vessels — blood is flowing in a good, solid fashion and getting to all your vital organs.” Among other benefits of kissing.
5. LOUD MUSIC
According to researchers at Manchester University, music fans are stimulating part of the inner ear known as the sacculus, which responds to the beat in music. This gives the brain pleasure and makes us feel good — during the music and afterwards.
6. BEING SOCIAL
Apparently socialising reduces the risk for strokes!
Research has shown that spending time with friends lowers your blood pressure and reduces inflammation in your body, says Horstman in her book, which in turn can decrease the probability of stroke or other brain damage. And according to research that appeared in the Harvard School of Public Health newsletter, being engaged in life and having a sense of enthusiasm, seems to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
7. OUTDOOR FESTIVALS!
Fun fact: The latest get-healthy pill isn’t found it in your medicine cabinet—it’s by going outside. Researchers at Tokyo’s Nippon Medical School found that women who spent six hours outside over the course of two days had an increase in virus and tumor-fighting white blood cells, and the boost lasted at least seven days afterwards.
